Last Saturday, Colleen and Pierson got married and we got the lovely opportunity to do their Solitude Links Wedding Photography on April 29, 2023. Their wedding day was simply beautiful and had so many unique details that we loved, from the Harry Potter earrings to walking down the aisle to a Taylor Swift (instrumental) song. (#MeganIsaSwiftie.)

Solitude Links Golf Course & Banquet Center is a beautiful venue for weddings and other special events. The course is located in Kimball, Michigan, just a short drive from the Blue Water Bridge and from the Metro Detroit area. The grounds are well-maintained and offer a variety of settings for photos, from the golf course itself to the surrounding woods and gardens.

We recently had the opportunity to photograph a wedding at Solitude Links, and it was a truly unforgettable experience. Pierson and Colleen were so happy and in love, and it was clear that they were surrounded by their closest friends and family. The ceremony was held in the gazebo overlooking the lake, and the reception was held in the banquet hall upstairs. The day itself was supposed to be fully rainy, but it maintained large dramatic clouds and didn’t start raining until after 10pm that night; we even were greeted with the sun right before it tucked away for the night! (Not to return for another 5 dreary dark days. Spring is a wild ride.)

The weather was perfect for the wedding, and the photos turned out beautifully. We were able to capture all of the special moments of the day, from the bride getting ready to the first dance.
