Port Huron New Years Eve Micro Wedding | Katie & Leo
Katie and Leo’s love story and how their Port Huron New Years Eve Micro Wedding came to fruition is a pretty amazing tale, full of love, sentiment, and even a little bit of magic. Leo and Katie first met years ago, and, let’s just say that her first impression of him wasn’t that she’d be marrying him one day in the future. They reconnected a bit later through their mutual best friend, Autumn. They started dating, and the rest is history. And speaking of history, that word played a massive role in their Port Huron New Years Eve Micro Wedding. More on that in a bit.
Katie was listening to a podcast about a month ago, and the podcast mentioned that New Year’s Eve weddings were popular, and so much fun. It’s the best of both worlds; a party and a wedding celebration all in one. The kicker is that New Year’s Eve was only 3 weeks away, but Katie and her squad didn’t shy away at that, and planned their entire wedding at her parent’s historic home in 3 weeks. Seriously, 3 weeks. Katie’s friend Wendy wasn’t available for the evening, so she referred her to contact us, and we went and hung out with her intimate group and captured their beautiful handfasting ceremony and vows exchanged by candlelight.
Katie’s parents live in a historic house in Port Huron on the St. Clair River. It was built in the late 1800’s, and has all the charm of that time frame included under one roof. We said it should be turned into a wedding venue for Port Huron micro weddings because it was so picturesque and beautiful. The original wooden grand staircase was the focal point for many photos of their day. Katie wore her late grandmother’s wedding dress that they had re-made into a more modern style, while still keeping the vintage lace and charm. She wore her mom’s veil. Her best friend (and resident match maker) Autumn married them. They had photos of their entire family’s wedding days, dating back to their great grandparents. They used vintage china from family, thrifted vintage details that all came together perfectly, and it made our hearts sing because the attention to detail was spot-on. We’ll let the photos do the talking.
We wish Katie and Leo a beautiful life, full of memories of their Port Huron New Years Eve Micro Wedding. If you’re planning on having an intimate, tiny, or micro wedding in 2021, we’d love to tag along and create those images that will hopefully one day be displayed on your great grandchild’s wedding table.
