Port Huron Area Wedding Photography | Carla & Jacob
We met Carla and Jacob earlier this year, as they were planning their upcoming marriage ceremony and wanted to hire us for their Port Huron Area Wedding Photography. They were so excited to marry each other, and it was so sweet to witness. Carla works at her church in the children’s department, and it was adorable to watch her interact with her youth that she mentors, and watch them both embrace their church community after their ceremony.
Their wedding ceremony was at their home church, The River, in the Port Huron area. Their pastor married them, and it was great to watch their friends pray over them, and the congregation really extend their hearts and souls to support this couple’s marriage to each other. Their wedding was also on the hottest day of the year. Legit. So hot, in fact, that I got a cell phone heat advisory warning that morning when I woke up, warning that the “feels like temp” would be over 100 degrees that day. And it was a squelcher, for sure. Luckily, their venue for their reception had a really pretty indoor area that was well air-conditioned so the cake and deserts didn’t melt, and provided some relief to guests, too.
We had never photographed at their reception area before- it’s a family friend of theirs that has recently hosted a few weddings in tents back behind their barn. The open fields and surrounding grounds were beautiful though, and the wildflowers that edged it all created the most stunning sunset backdrop for photos. Also, as luck would have it, Carla planned to wear a really pretty “get away dress” and ended up changing into early because of the heat. We loved the outfit change, and her lightweight dress made her look like a beautiful Grecian goddess.
