Mary and Ryan brought their closest friends and family up from Indiana to celebrate their intimate Michigan Log Cabin Wedding in Lexington, Michigan. The private log cabin home on the shores of Lake Huron was the perfect setting. Even though it was only 35 degrees with a few snow showers, you would have never known from the warmth and happiness that surrounded the day.

Mary & Ryan have 2 young children who never left their sides all day, the family unit is tight and the bond they share is enviable. Especially big brother Griffin to baby sister Grace. During the family portraits of the wedding we got a great glimpse into their future and he will be such a strong, protective big brother, but can also can bring out the sweetest smiles. They were melting our hearts. Mary and Ryan also have the most genuine group of friends and the speeches given by everyone was an emotional tribute to the love & friendship they hold for one an another.

We love the opportunity of photographing in one of our favorite areas, and being a local tour guide for those who are not from our Great Lakes state. Lexington Michigan has such a small town charm about it, and one of the best beaches in the state because of the textures of the rocks, greenery, and the lake views. It’s far enough north from Port Huron that the lake looks massive compared to down by the Blue Water Bridge when you’re a stone’s throw away from Canada. The lake always seems serene, and boat traffic isn’t as crazy during the summer up towards Lexington, too. There are lots of fun shops, great wineries and restaurants, and so many charming and quaint activities to do up in Lexington. We have lots of experience and prefer to hang out up there on most days (legit, our favorite Lexington coffee shop knows us by name) and if you’re planning a Michigan log cabin wedding, we highly recommend checking out Lexington Michigan and it’s surrounding areas.
