Metro Detroit Wedding | Shannon & Brad – Mulberry & Sage Photography
We first met Shannon and Brad last year, when they came back to town and were looking for a photography team for their upcoming Metro Detroit wedding. We photographed their engagement session, and effectively froze all our tushies off in the process. That’s why we were so happy to see the weather forecast as the most perfect autumn day for their wedding on October 3, 2021.
Shannon and Bradley got married at Holy Trinity Church in Port Huron, about 45 min north of the Metro Detroit area. We always recommend the Port Huron area because we’re local girls and know our stomping grounds well, and it’s also such an easy commute. It rarely has traffic, and while the 45-55 min commute may look far on a map, it goes by quickly when you’re driving. It also has lake views that you seriously can’t beat. And we mean actual great lake stuff, no small-time downriver lakes for us here on the shores of Lake Huron. Go big or go home.
Their wedding was beautiful. We loved the navy blue suits that all the guys wore, and the floral accents that Brad wore. Shannon looked stunning, and the two of them were so relaxed and easy-going, and really just let their love for each other be the spotlight of the day. We had a relaxed timeline, and were able to go to Lighthouse Beach for some portraits in the afternoon after their ceremony and mass. Then we headed to Marysville and their reception was at Alexander’s, right off Gratiot. Shannon and Brad are from the area (Lexington, actually, but live elsewhere) but most of their guests were traveling in, so having central locations that were easily commutable was important to them.
We hope you enjoy this small preview into their beautiful Metro Detroit wedding. If you’re getting married in 2022, we have select dates still available and would love to connect.
