Kimball Wedding Photographers | Kate & Kevin
Kate and Kevin have weathered a true storm, quite literally and figuratively. They were booked to get married and have us as their Kimball wedding photographers on June 7th of this year, and literally were holding out hope until about 3 weeks before. We gave them so many props, because while we were in contact with them, they seemed relatively low key about postponing. Solitude Links is an amazing Kimball wedding venue, and re-booked their wedding for a Sunday in August. As the date got closer, their indoors wedding got moved outdoors because of the executive order.
The day of their wedding came, and it was pouring rain. So much so that the tent collapsed outside at Solitude (Jen fixed it, because she rocks) and they couldn’t have their ceremony by the waterfall like they originally planned because it was all too wet. They ended up moving their ceremony small ceremony under the deck and it worked great. The rain cleared up around their ceremony time, but the wind started. We found some large trees to use as windbreakers to use for some photos, and then we went exploring on the golf cart for some intimate couple portraits, too. Everyone was so kind, and sweet and accommodating. Their bridal party loved them dearly, and love was truly in the air. We were so glad that we also photographed their engagement session too, because it was like reuniting with old friends again, and seeing them again for another round. The best news is that we also get to hang out again with them next June for their extended reception with all their family and friends that weren’t able to attend due to COVID-19.
We know that choosing a photographer is stressful, and that planning a wedding (especially during a pandemic!) is incredibly difficult. If you’re newly engaged and looking for Kimball wedding photographers for Solitude Links, we would be honored to chat with you. We hope you enjoy this small preview into Kate and Kevin’s special day in 2020 and stay tuned next June for their third feature on our blog!
