To say that we (well, Courtney at least) have a long history with Jennifer is an understatement. Jennifer is Courtney’s sister in law and since Courtney married into the W. family in 2009, the entire family opened up their arms and embraced her, and likewise for the other way around. Jen lives in Holland, Michigan, and is a fitness & wellness coach and also works at a store downtown. Jb and me-it was mentioned a few times during the reception 😉 When she met Tim, an athletic director from the area and moved back home from California, everyone knew immediately that it was the perfect match. We were thrilled to travel over to the West Side of Michigan to be their Holland Michigan Wedding Photographer at Three Fires Golf Club.

We learned some interesting things about this venue:

1. We were the very first wedding there under the new ownership
2. We still know next to nothing about golf- even though we’re literally at golf courses nearly every weekend all day
3. Courtney has a long history of loving to drive golf carts
4. Three Fires recently came under new ownership, and the 27 hole course is beautiful and ideal for weddings and gatherings

They recently built a beautiful pergola area that was great for both the ceremony and the reception highlights. The twinkle lights were a great touch. The new building that it’s off of is also wonderful, with the bright white open space that housed the food buffet easily, and had a large room to get ready. Not to mention indoor bathrooms, which is always a nice thing for everyone (and more rare at venues than you may imagine.)

Jen and Tim were adorable together; their first look was intimate and sweet. We had a super relaxed timeline because of their first look, and were even able to get all the family photos done before the ceremony, so that they relaxed and hung out with their friends and family guests during their own cocktail hour. We snuck out closer to sunset after their dances for some more portraits at the end, too.
