Caitlin and Dennis truly weathered the storm of 2020. They were actually one of our first couples booked for 2020, and they snagged the ultra-coveted date of 10-10-20. They were busy planning their Great Gatsby Wedding theme to invite 200+ of their friends and family from all over to celebrate with them, but since the indoor capacity was limited due to corona, they ended up switching it to Catilin’s parent’s backyard instead, and invited their immediate family only while some tuned in via livestream zoom. 

We met Caitlin because her sister is a good photography friend of ours. We immediately vibed, and had a great time getting to know each other at their engagement session, as well as via social media over the past year. As the date got closer, they had to make an incredibly difficult decision to really downsize their 2020 wedding; the good news is that we get to hang out again in October of 2021 along with about 200+ more people that time around.

Their backyard Great Gatsby wedding was seriously beautiful. The clearing that the siblings used to all play in was transformed into a beautiful ceremony space with hanging Edison bulbs, white florals, candles, and a lovely ambiance for their emotional vow exchange. Caitlin’s brother married them, and their bridal party was chock full of siblings. Photos consisted of family groupings, and lots of wrangling little kids (so fun!) The trees were at their peak color, and the sun twinkled through the trees just as the ceremony started. The sunset was absolutely beautiful too, with pink skies ending the love filled evening. While I was only there for two hours, their gallery is full of emotion, love, special moments, and all the butterflies that a full gallery has. You’d never know it was condensed!
