Last Friday, we packed up and headed about an hour and 15 min west of Port Huron to Goodrich Michigan to be Chelsea and Jim’s Creekside Acres wedding photographer team. We had never photographed there before, and love exploring new venues within our awesome state- especially rustic venues within an hour (or so) of the Bluewater Area.

Chelsea and Jim have been chatting and planning their barn wedding with us since a year ago. We had their consultation at Casey’s on the outside patio. We had a couple beers, talked, and everything just clicked. Then we hung out and did their engagement session with them and saw how they really interact and engage with each other. They’re a super sweet couple who live locally. They love all things rustic, like hanging out at their family property (that we did their session on), spending time swimming together, and lots more.

Their wedding was beautiful. What started out a chilly day in April in Michigan really brightened up right around the time their ceremony started, and we also got a stunning sunset and golden hour to take some photos and explore Creekside Acre’s 25+ acres of property. We love when couples trust us and are adventurous, and Jim and Chelsea were just that; they happily went along with all our ideas and we loved how their photos turned out so much.

They got to hang out with their friends and family, and even ended the night with a beautiful sparkler exit. Their entire theme was perfectly on-brand, and we loved all the greenery, wood tones, and signage around that you could just tell they put tons of time and effort in to meticulously plan and execute. Their bridal party was fun, easy to get to know and joke around with, and it was a great start to what’s certain to be a wonderful 2021 wedding season for Mulberry & Sage.
