Lexington Heights Engagement Session | Sammie & Brandon
It’s been a long winter, friends, and we can’t be more thrilled to be back and featuring some beautiful couples again on the blog to kickoff the 2024 engagement session season officially. Today, we’re thrilled to share Sammie and Brandon’s Lexington Heights engagement session, from their session last Friday.
Last Friday, Courtney and I made the quick jaunt up to Lexington Heights to photograph Sammie and Brandon. Sammie and Brandon will be getting married in 2025 at Laurel Manor. They are outdoorsy people and prefer to spend their time outside in the summer months (who doesn’t, really?). They have been dating for about 7 years now, and when Brandon popped the big question to Sammie, it was received in a “what took you so long?” kind of way from all their family and friends. Apparently, Brandon isn’t too good at keeping a secret, so as soon as the ring came in from the jewelers, he spontaneously asked her and she said yes!
An engagement session is like a test drive for your wedding photography! It’s a chance to meet your photographer in person, chat, and see if you click. You’ll get a feel for our shooting style – and we’ll get insight about whether or not you tend to prefer classic poses, or sway towards us simply capturing candid moments.
Plus, it’s practice time for you (the couple) too! You can loosen up in front of the camera, figure out flattering poses together (we totally help!), and see how we work and jive with your body language as a couple. This all leads to more natural, comfortable photos on your wedding day, where you can focus on celebrating your love.
We did Sammie and Brandon’s session at his family’s cottage up in Lexington Heights. It’s been in his family for his entire life, and the sense of community was totally obvious everywhere we went throughout the neighborhood, from posing in random neighbor’s blooming bushes to the little private beach down the road exclusively for community members. He even has other family members that live in that same neighborhood! We hope you love this preview into their Lexington Heights engagement session. If you’re getting married in 2024 or 2025, we’d love to chat.
