Last Friday, we had the pleasure of photographing Karissa and Nick’s Lakeport Beach Engagement Photography Session at Lakeport Beach on Lake Huron. The weather was perfect, with clear blue skies and a gentle breeze. The beach was deserted, so we had the place to ourselves.

Karissa and Nick are a beautiful couple, and they were so in love. It was clear to see how much they care for each other. We spent the afternoon exploring the beach, taking photos in the sand and in the water.

We also took some photos in the woods behind the beach. The woods were lush and green, and the sunlight filtered through the trees in a beautiful way.

Karissa and Nick were so easy to work with, and they were always laughing and having fun. It was a pleasure to capture their love story. We learned that the two of them met on move-in day at Oakland University as freshmen, and have been together ever since!

We’re so excited to see them get married next year at or favorite venue, Solitude Links.

• Book your session early. Lakeport Beach is a popular spot for engagement photography, so it’s important to book your session early to ensure that you get the date and time you want. Our summer and fall are fairly busy, so the earlier we can get you on the books, the better.
• Be prepared for all weather conditions. The weather on Lake Huron can change quickly, so it’s important to be prepared for all weather conditions. Bring a variety of clothing options, and options with and without shoes.
• Have fun! Engagement photography is a special time to celebrate your love. Relax and enjoy the process of being photographed with your loved one. We hope to take some (or most) of the pressure off you there, as our style is generally very candid and relaxed with an emphasis on fun and organic expressions.
