Erin and Matt spent an unseasonably hot day with us last fall, where we all went exploring and walked away with 100 too many mosquito bites for a day in October. Regardless, we were so excited for their 2022 Michigan barn wedding theme scheduled for September 10, 2022. They said that the barn was located on private property and since it was in the country in Almont, we didn’t have much information to work off of, aside from “big red barn.” 

We love barn weddings. They are laid back, natural, easy going, and usually chock-full with fun people ready to party. Erin and Matt met on a party bus, and have been inseparable ever since. Their wedding day was absolutely perfect weather- in the high 60’s and not blazing hot. Big fluffy clouds provided even lighting, and we couldn’t have asked for a better “autumn in Michigan” display. When we arrived at the barn, we were literally shocked. It was the most beautiful setting, with a large manicured area for the ceremony, beautiful rustic decorations, a massive willow tree, and a gorgeous old red barn that was a true show stopper. Erin’s wedding colors were sheer perfection- we loved the deep reds, burgundy, and the girl’s rust colored dresses, and how the tones all flowed and played off the surrounding so easily. Their first look was behind the silo with vines growing up the side. Their timeline was ideal, and allowed for us to get all of the wedding party’s photos done beforehand, so that we could focus on family portraits and those more fun/creative shots for after the ceremony. The streamers were fun to play with, and the little small details that they added in everywhere were great to capture and learn all about.
