Michigan Backyard Wedding | Aleesha & Derrick
Aleesha and Derrick have been put through the 2020 ringer. Originally, they had something planned that looked much different. They were able to roll with the COVID-19 waves, and adjusted their wedding plans multiple times before coming up with the plan of having it all occur in their own neighborhood. That’s where their planning for their Michigan Backyard Wedding really took off; they were able to collaborate with their next door neighbor and put together a beautiful wedding full of love.
Aleesha and Derrick met because of their jobs. Like a real like Grey’s Anatomy, she’s a nurse and he’s a paramedic. They met through mutual friends, but definitely share their passion for their professions together. Together they have two adorable children, and they love living out in the country, raising their chickens (which was kind of a secondary theme for their wedding) and being together. We had an amazing time being so close to our own properties (we’re all practically neighbors) and exploring their neighbor’s stunning grounds. She offered to let Derrick and Aleesha have their wedding ceremony in front of her barn, and use her farm for photos, and we’re so grateful and glad, because it was beautiful. Her family has lived there for over 50 years. They have a large apple orchard, a beautiful farm house, and a big red barn that we couldn’t get enough of. Then, we walked down the street back to their property where they had some tents set up for their driveway reception. Neiman’s food was brought in, the cupcakes were legit (!) and they had a wonderful time spending quality moments and memories with their closest friends and family members.
We know that 2020 has been a rough year. Trust us. We’ve been there right along with you. But if you’re planning a Michigan Backyard Wedding now, or any kind of wedding really, we’d love to document it for you.
